# Device UI

> Control each device from the purpose-built screen the manufacturer designed.

The **Device UI** tab is the home screen of the app — a card for every device you
own, each with the interface the **manufacturer built for that product**. No setup
on your side: onboard a device and its controls appear here.

## What you see

* A card per device, showing its name and **live status** (Active / Offline)
* The manufacturer's product artwork or icon
* The primary controls for that device — a power button, and the full dashboard
  when you open it

## Using a device

Tap a device to open its dashboard — the manufacturer's
[designed interface](/dashboard/overview) of gauges, switches, charts, and
controls. Reading a value shows live data; pressing a control sends a command to
the device in real time.

  Device UI is the *manufacturer's* dashboard — the same for every owner of that
  product. Want your own layout across several devices? Build a
